Personally we need to quit giving welfare unconditionally. There are roadways, parks, etc that need cleaning and pickedup instead of paying state employees to do it and they should be drug tested before they get their money each month. Increase sales tax and everyone helps pay not just the businesses or the people who have worked hard their whole lives and have wealth. Look at the prison system, why on earth is Genesee Counties jail cost per prisoner so high that we can "farmout" prisoners to Midland, have the picked up and housed for 1/2 the cost of the Genesee County Jail? These people have broke the law, they get 3 meals a day, clean clothes, a bed to sleep in and way too many perks. Start using them the way we used to, work detail on the roads, use them to make minor repairs and earn their keep. I love Michigan and I'm tired of us giving it away. |
